Friday, 7 August
She + They + Play – 7pm – 9pm
— An improv workshop for women and non-binary people
A supportive, playful improv workshop for women and non-binary people. Explore spontaneity, character, storytelling, and scene work in a low-pressure space designed for confidence, connection, and creative risk-taking. Beginners welcome, with individual feedback available for those who want it.
Saturday, 8 August
Acting for Improvisers – 10am – 1pm
A practical workshop for improvisers who want to make their scenes clearer, stronger, and more theatrical. Explore how to use voice, physicality, space, levels, stagecraft, and mime skills to create characters and scenes that the audience can see, feel, and follow. Great for anyone wanting to move beyond “talking heads” and bring more presence, confidence, and clarity to the stage.
Character, Status & Emotional Truth – 2pm – 5pm
Move beyond clever lines and into scenes with real people, clear relationships, and emotional stakes. This workshop explores character, status, point of view, reaction, and connection, helping improvisers create scenes that are funnier, richer, and more satisfying because they matter. Expect playful exercises, practical tools, and the chance to receive individual feedback.
Sunday, 9 August
Musical Improv: Finding the Song – 10am – 1pm
A fun and accessible introduction to musical improv. Learn how to build confidence with improvised singing, find simple song structures, create choruses, use rhyme and rhythm, and discover how songs can emerge naturally from scenes. You do not need to be a “good singer”, just willing to play, support others, and give it a go.
Musical Improv: Scenes, Songs & Stories – 2pm – 5pm
Take the next step into musical improv by exploring how songs can support character, emotion, and story. We’ll look at duets, group numbers, reprises, emotional offers, and how to move between scene and song in a way that feels playful and satisfying. This workshop is ideal for people who attended the morning session, or those with some improv or musical improv experience.
