Our rehearsal group is a vibrant community of performers from diverse backgrounds and ages who come together to hone their improvisational skills, primarily focusing on long-form improv. The cast for our shows is drawn from this group. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a newbie looking to dip your toes into the world of improv, our group offers an inclusive space for growth, learning, and creativity.
When and where we jam
Our jams take place each Monday evening from 7-9 pm at the Phillipstown Community Hub. It’s the perfect place to let your imagination run wild and unleash your inner performer.
How it works
Under the expert guidance of our artistic director, Jonathan Briden, or one of our seasoned performers, our sessions are designed to sharpen your improv skills. We often focus on specific improv techniques and explore new show formats. While we incorporate a touch of theory, the core of our sessions is about getting up on your feet and experimenting with your creativity.
Joining the fun
Curious about how to become a part of our lively group? We hold auditions once or twice a year, depending on demand. These auditions are relaxed, enjoyable, and often linked to a workshop to ease you into the experience. To stay informed about upcoming auditions and workshops, consider joining our workshop mailing list.
Membership requirements
Our group prides itself on its relaxed and friendly atmosphere, so there are minimal requirements for those invited to join. You have the flexibility to choose your level of involvement. The more frequently you attend, the more you’ll learn, and the stronger your connections with fellow improvisers will become – enhancing your chances of being cast in our shows.
While we encourage playfulness and irreverence in our art, we also emphasise respect. This extends to respecting each other’s time by arriving punctually or notifying the group if you’re running late. Additionally, we value and honour everyone’s boundaries and identities. Improvisation may be playful, but understanding the boundaries is crucial, and we strive to respect them at all times.

Performing
We can’t get everyone into every show, but we try to make sure those who want it are getting stage time. When you perform, you get a cut of the profits from the show (i.e. once the venue cost is deducted).
Your contributions
To help sustain our activities and cover room rental costs, we do have a small annual fee of $100. However, we understand that not everyone may be in a position to afford it. Therefore, the fee is entirely optional, and we warmly welcome those who cannot contribute financially to still be a part of our group. We believe in creating an inclusive environment where everyone can participate, regardless of their financial situation.
We also invite our members to contribute in whatever way they can to the group’s success. This includes inviting friends to our shows, helping out on the door, helping promote the show, and so on.
