Improv S.O.S. (Self, Objects, Space) – Saturday, 22 April, 10am – 1pm

You’re good but you’re stuck. You need improv S.O.S. As improvisors we KNOW we don’t want to just stand and talk, we want to be more physical but what does that mean? And how can we actually do that in a way that is instinctual, playful and simple? This workshop explores how we explore physicality in Improvisation through the Self, our Objects and Space. Practical tools and playful exploration will lead you to making choices that surprise even yourself. Get out of your head and into your body.

Character Playground – Saturday, 22 April, 2pm – 5pm

When you know who you are you know how to react without having to think about it. Character is the filter you improvise through so in this workshop we will explore different ways to create character from the inside out. We will use ourselves, our experience, suggestions and our scene partners to explore what makes a good character and what makes a character easy to play. Using acting tools we will play improvisationally and practise different doors into character choices through internal motivation.

Presence, Play and Pivot Master Class – Sunday, 23 April, 10am – 5pm

In this masterclass Anděl will take her 21 years of experience improvising professionally and work. you. out. She will focus on who you are and what you bring to the table and how you can be flexible without losing yourself. She’ll use her well of experience in both short and long form, theatre, sketch and solo character and clown work to allow you to step outside your comfort zone while resting in your abilities and solidifying your point of view. Playing with the rules and structures you’ll leave this workshop with a few new tools, the ability to be playful and even more a grasp of what it is that makes YOU special as an improviser and an artist. It will be a mix of mind/body connection, movement/mischief and improvisation. Bring Water. There will be Sweat.
